October 2008
The 2008 Emerson Global User Exchange conference in Washington DC was a
huge success! We exceeded conference goals once again, and had more
participants, more workshops and more exhibitors than ever before.
2,643 attendees from 46 difference countries created a truly global
exchange - WOW!
There were many opportunities to share ideas
that become solutions.
I want to thank all of the many presenters, guest speakers, exhibitors,
instructors, board members and Emerson staff who helped us with
workshops, short courses, exhibits, and attendance.
Special thanks to the outgoing chairman – Greg Stephens.
Users participated in and gained significant value from:
-
… 312 Short
Courses, Workshops, and Roadmaps to choose from
-
… 9 Industry Forums
-
… a special one-day
Management Program to identify, introduce,
and
successfully implement
the ideas
that become solutions for
your company, and,
-
… a spectacular
event at the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum
In his last keynote as a Business Leader for Emerson Process Management
John Berra handed over the keys to Steve Sonnenberg and exited the stage
to a standing ovation.
The conference also featured a 55,000-square-foot (5100-square-meter)
interactive application and technology exhibit where the benefits of
digital automation and system migration were demonstrated, along with
the latest smart field transmitters, valve & valve automation solutions,
wireless instrumentation, and PlantWeb technology.
We
are already planning the 2009 Emerson Global User Exchange conference.
Look for the “Call for Presentations” in January and submit your
abstracts early if you would like to present at next year’s conference
in Orlando, FL.
And, be sure and mark your calendars early for next year’s conference:
September 28 - October 2, 2009
Gaylord Palms in Orlando, FL
As always, we value
your ideas, comments and participation. Please feel free to contact me
or any member of the
Board, if you have questions or feedback on the Emerson Global Users
Exchange.
