Peter Beerepoot is the team leader of projects EMEA for Shell Global Solutions and the SME in Rijswijk, The Netherlands and has over 20 years of professional experience for refineries. He started working for Shell in 1982 acting as an Instrument Engineer and after five years became Senior Maintenance Engineer in a large Shell Refinery. In 2003 he became senior and then principal consultant for Instrumentation & Plant Automation followed by principle consultant and now team leader on PACO content. He achieved a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics with a specialty in Measurement and Controls and for 5 years he was instructor for a postgraduate course on control and instrumentation.
Ian is Department Manager for Control Systems and Telecoms for KBR’s London Operating Centre. He is responsible for the resource management for all projects and the development of all engineers and designers who cover all aspects of Process control, systems automation, field instrumentation and detailed design on projects from Conceptual design through to world scale EPC contracts. Ian started his career with M.W.Kellogg as a graduate trainee. Over the past 30 years Ian has covered all roles in the CSE department and is now involved in streamlining technical and procedural aspects of KBR’s work methods world wide. Ian has been involved with the London section of the Institute of Measurement and Control the last 4 years as Chairman.

Giovanni Donolo is the CPO BEE BU Generation at EGIE Europe in Brussels Belgium for almost two years. He started working at Engie since 2011 as the Head of Procurement, Logistics and Insurance department in Rome, Italy. For six years he worked as Head of Maintenance and Engineering Department but a well as a General Manager for AceaElectrabel Production in Italy.
Daniela Gentile is the Executive Vice President of Research and Development for Ansaldo Energia. She Graduated in 1985 in Chemical Engineering at Genoa University and joined Ansaldo NIRA in 1985 as Process Engineer of Fluid System of Pressurized Nuclear Reactor up to 1989. Before joining Ansaldo Energia in 1999, she was in charge of Engineering Department of Ansaldo Tecnitalia – a company dealing with EPC in waste to energy sector. From 2005 to 2009 she has been Director of Procurement Department of Ansaldo Energia and in 2010 and 2011 she has been Director of Project Management Department for Power Plants and New Units in Ansaldo Energia and member of International Project Management Association IPMA. She is currently member of the Board of EU Turbines and member of the Scientific Committee of “Fondazione Ansaldo”.
Johan Ike is the team leader of the Process Control department with AkzoNobel Projects & Engineering in Arnhem, The Netherlands. He is responsible for the resource planning of the PC team and project manager for process automation projects. After a study Physics at the university of Utrecht Johan has more than 25 years of laboratory/process automation experience within the Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Coatings industry and has worked with various process control systems and information management systems. At this moment Johan is specialized in Energy Diagnostics on the various AkzoNobel sites where the energy efficiency can be improved.
Peter is currently Technical Director for Manufacturing Execution Systems with GlaxoSmithKline and is responsible for the definition, design, development and implementation of MES within GSK’s manufacturing organisation. Prior to that, Peter was responsible for GSK’s primary supply (bulk active) automation centre of excellence, covering process control, instrumentation and allied systems. Before joining GSK, Peter held a number of consulting and engineering positions with a systems integrator (Zenith Technologies), Aspen Technology and (as projects director) with Yokogawa. Peter started his automation career with Fisher Controls as an engineer and project manager, way back when PRoVOX was new. Peter holds a BSc and PhD in Chemical Engineering from Leeds University and is the co-author of a number of books on project management.
After completing his studies at the university of Leuven, graduating a master of science, electro-mechanical engineering, Perry started working as a project manager for a small local Belgian EPC contractor, specialised in critical power supply and datacentre engineering. After having worked 6 years in this business, he was headhunted to start as an electrical engineer in the internal project organisation for Yara. After having several positions in the project organisation, the last one as Head of E/A and Deputy Head of Engineering, he became expat and moved to Madrid to follow up the EPC contractor for a new nitric acid, ammonium nitrate complex in Australia. Upon his return he left the project organisation to become part of central productivity team as process owner electrical and automation with a global responsibility for the existing resources (both equipment and people). He is also the technical responsible for the global frame agreements including the one with Emerson.
Emerson Automation Solutions
Phil Kelaart is responsible for the European business portfolio of Rosemount Measurement and Analytical, he is based in Emerson Automation Solutions’ European Head Office in Baar, Switzerland. He has been with Emerson for 26 years since 1989, spending 5 years at Corporate and 21 years with Rosemount.
Phil has quickly progressed through a wide variety of functions with Rosemount, including Engineering, Operations, Marketing, e Business, Supply Chain, IT, Global Distribution, Acquisition integration and Joint Ventures. In these roles he has championed a number of process and product innovations and global systems implementations.
He was promoted to the role of Vice President Global Supply Chain Operations for Emerson Corporate in 2011, where he assumed responsibility for Emerson’s $9+ billion supply chain. In 2013, Phil assumed the role as Vice President and General Manager of Emerson Philippines Shared Services, and Country Manager for Emerson. In 2015, he was appointed President of the newly formed Emerson Philippines Corporation, he started his Swiss assignment in early 2016. Phil has an AS in Electronic Engineering Technology, a BS in Industrial Engineering from St. Cloud State University and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas and he is a US citizen.
Niels Kiupel is the Director of the Instrumention & Automation department at Evonik. His responsibilities cover I&E maintenance, optimisation and project management at the Herne site. Further, he coordinates the Automation and Process Information System Strategy within his group.
Niels started his career with Degussa, working on data analysis, implementation of advanced process control. He then moved into the engineering group, where his main focus was the revamp of DCS projects, including the first big application of foundation fieldbus within the company. He started in his current role in 2005. He studied Electronics at the University of Duisburg and has a PhD on Fault detection.
Jos Oelers is an experienced professional in the field of process automation systems and infrastructure. Started as a system software engineer in 1977 and had multiple positions in project engineering, project management, system development and system maintenance management. Present he is an advisor at the SABIC Global Manufacturing Competence Center in the process automation domain, acting as the global expert group lead. The SABIC MCC process automation domain, consisting of over 30 experts all over the world. The objective is to lead SABIC to the best performing quartile in process automation by initiating and supporting global programs in the field DCS life cycle planning, control loop performance optimization, advanced process control, alarm management, MES and manufacturing IT security. The MCC is also acting as the SABIC technical focal point towards the key (DCS) vendors. Jos Oelers holds a BEng degree in Electronic Engineering and a Master degree in Business Management and Information Science.

Regis Peccoux is General Manager at Emerson Automation Solutions SAS in France
In this role as the business leader in France , he is responsible to create and execute the business strategy and oversee the smooth running of the subsidiary in France.
He has been working in the company since 1992 and has held various positions in sales, marketing and engineering in France and at the European level in the Systems and Fisher Business Units.
He has 27 years of experience in process control and holds BA in Automation and electronics and a Business Administration from EM Lyon.
Mary Peterson is currently the Senior Strategy & Technology Leader – Automation within the Biologics Advanced Process & Manufacturing Technologies group in Novartis, currently based in Basel, Switzerland. Mary has worked for Novartis for the last 22 years holding positions in the fields of instrumentation and automation engineering as well as project management within these disciplines.
Pedro Redondo Sobrado
Pedro Redondo is Repsol’s Instrumentation & Advanced Control Manager in the Central Engineering Services. A chemical engineer by degree (Universidad Complutense de Madrid), he has 25 years experience in automation. Pedro started his career in the Process Department of the Spanish engineering company Initec in 1989. Nine months later, he moved to Repsol Petroleo as Process Control specialist. From 1989 to 1996 he was working in the complete digitalization of Repsol Refineries and in the implementation of advanced multivariable controllers (DMC). He then moved to Central Engineering Services to carry out same tasks for the entire Repsol group and for the new facilities. He is responsible of Instrumentation & Advanced Control Department since 2000. Pedro is member of ISA (International Society of Automation) and he was president of the Spanish Section (2008-2009). Pedro also has been promoter and responsible of ISA Spain Functional Safety and SIS training program (2006-2011).
Peter Rutherford is BP’s Upstream Segment Engineering Technical Authority for Control and Automation. A chemical engineer by degree, he has 20 years’ experience all in the field of instrumentation and control. Peter started his career in chemicals in a site based process control team and then moved to work on new build projects. He then moved upstream, first to LNG projects and then oil and gas production operations in the North Sea. In recent years, Peter has worked in the Upstream Engineering Centre of BP leading the segment automation strategy and maintaining engineering standards.
Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd.
Ahmed has started his carrier in Gasco in 1997 as instrument and control engineer and has grown since then in the organization and held number of positions in the area maintenance and technical services. His current position is Engineering and Technical Services Vice President, and as part of the job responsibility they are business enabler to the various operating and projects entities within the company by providing effective and efficient engineering support that lead to optimum solutions which guides the development of safe policies that supports integrity, reliability and HSE. He is the Ultimate Technical Authority in Gasco and responsible to ensure overall asset integrity and safety, including all relevant standards, guidelines and processes. .
He has a Bachelor degree in Electrical engineering from the University of Southern California.

Nick began his automation career in the car industry with the Rover group working on robotic assembly lines. He moved into the process sector with Kent Process Control in the mid eighties & since then has held a range of positions in sales, project management & sales management with several process automation suppliers. During his 13 years with Emerson, he has worked with DeltaV, RS3 & Provox users on almost every aspect of their business including capital projects, expansion, MES, modernisation & migration, service & support, batch, computer system validation & terminal automation. In his current role, Marketing Director Europe, he works with the Marketing Communications & Sales teams in all business units of Emerson Automation Solutions across Europe. Nick is a graduate of the University of Warwick, England and holds both BSc & MEng in Manufacturing Systems. He is a member of ISA, ISPE & WBF.
László Tóth is employed by MOL Group and has 30 years experience in the refining industry. He began his career as unit operator then was employed by UOP Plc. as technical advisor. Rejoining MOL he continued his carrier as process engineer. From 1998 to 2004 he was the project director of the Residue Upgrading, then the Ultra Low Sulphur Motor Fuels project programs in MOL’s Danube Refinery. As such, he played a role to introduce Foundation Fieldbus, the Operator Training Simulator solutions, and the Main Automation Contractor concept in MOL refineries. In the latest years he is the head of Project Development in MOL Group’s Refining and Marketing Division being responsible for the implementation of the refining and logistics investment projects. László holds an MSc in Chemical Engineering from Pannon University.
