Deon F. Rae is a Team Lead within the Process Automation Group at ChevronTexaco's Energy & Technology Company in Houston, Texas. In this role he is responsible to identify and promote new technologies to capital projects and provide consulting support to operating facilities. Deon is also a core member of the ChevronTexaco i-field program focusing on optimizing upstream operations. He is also an active member of the FOUNDATION fieldbus End User Council and serve on standards committees for API and ISA. He has over 25 years of Instrumentation & Control experience and held a variety of engineering and reliability support positions within refinery, chemicals and technology organizations. Deon received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1981 from the Cape Tech. University, Cape Town South Africa.
