The Chairman's Message

December, 2001

Herman StoreyWelcome!

We are glad you decided to visit our web page.  We will have lots of information to share with you over the next few months so come back often.

We reviewed our last meeting in New Orleans and will try to make good use of the feedback we got from that meeting.  We are sorry that many of you were not able to attend, but we had about 600 make it and had a good meeting - even though about 120 of you had to cancel after the September 11th tragedy.  We hope to see all of you and more in San Diego in September 2002.  Mark your calendar for the big event September 3-6 at the Marriott Hotel and Marina..

Changes

Our Board met in November and planned lots of changes for the upcoming 2 years.  We plan to grow and serve more diverse interests as we include programming for more of Emerson Process Management divisions.  Our board is working on Charter changes to help us cope with the increased work and scope of upcoming larger events.

We have a new name:  It is Emerson Global User Forum.  We think it reflects the new scope of our group and will give us the correct image for the best user information exchange in the world of process automation.

Opportunity

We are looking for speakers.  We especially want users who can share some of their successes (and even their problems) in application of automation technology to their processes.  Get your abstract in to Stacey Cloud.  If you don't, we'll come looking for you.
