Call for Presentations is now closed

Thanks to all of you who contributed to the more than 686 abstracts that were submitted before the March 19th deadline. The Presentations Committee is hard at work reviewing the abstracts and will advise presenters of their decision by the end of April.

Instrumentation Applications  - subjects might cover:

  • New technologies and their use in analytical, flow, level, pressure and temperature measurement applications
  • Solutions to difficult instrumentation and measurement applications
  • Custody transfer applications
  • New technologies and their use in flow measurement applications
  • Fieldbus applications

Valve Applications - subjects might cover:

  • Best practices in selection and installation of Emerson control valve/actuator and regulator offerings.
  • Use of new or existing Emerson products to solve severe service, regulatory or unique applications.
  • Applications involving the use of digital positioner offerings.
  • Valve, regulator and actuator maintenance activities including management of predictive, outage and day to day activities.

Asset Optimization / Maintenance and Reliability - subjects might cover:

  • Justifying a predictive maintenance program and technologies, and quantifying ongoing benefits
  • Designing, implementing and optimizing an asset management program
  • Work processes to leverage predictive diagnostics within daily maintenance activities
  • Successful programs for improved equipment reliability
  • Planning and executing turnarounds
  • Experience with diagnostic tools and techniques
  • Compliance with regulatory requirements for plant assets

 

 

Safety Instrumented Systems - subjects might cover:

  • Successful integrations of Emerson systems and Safety Instrumented Systems
  • Update on SIS regulations and technology
  • Role of smart instruments and valves in Safety Instrumented Systems

Project Management and Engineering Tools - subjects might cover:

  • Projects using Emerson's PlantWeb technology and/or services
  • Project workflow optimization / improvements
  • Engineering tool solutions (SPI)
  • Reducing capital or engineering costs
  • Simulation
  • Improving access to process information

Control System Modernization - subjects might cover:

  • Migrations of existing systems (Emerson & non-Emerson) to latest Emerson systems & platforms
  • Cost savings using migration tools
  • Installation methods that reduce overall conversion/configuration time
  • Human factors influencing control systems design
  • Control room ergonomics
  • Development of plant and technical personnel

Process Optimization - subjects might cover:

  • Advanced process control technologies
  • Loop performance auditing
  • Use of embedded loop monitoring, model predictive control and/or neural nets
  • Optimization - where to start & how improvements are sustained

Emerson Product / Service Updates- Emerson only, subjects might cover:

  • Overview of new products or services
  • Update of recent product enhancements
  • Examples of how newly released products and services can benefit the end user

Wireless Applications - subjects might cover:

  • System and instrumentation applications
  • Portable operator interface or handheld applications
  • Security
  • Cost benefits and ROI

*PlantWeb Implementation - This track is intended to highlight plants or companies which have implemented a PlantWeb strategy, including:

  • digital-capable devices that provide field intelligence using onboard microprocessors, embedded software, and open-standard communications
  • open communication standards linking field intelligence, systems, and applications in a plant-wide network
  • DeltaV or Ovation automation systems that make the most of PlantWeb's predictive intelligence
  • Consolidated valuable asset information collected using AMS Suite technologies
