The Chairman's MessageOctober, 2005
The 2005 Emerson Exchange conference in Orlando was a huge success! I want to thank all of the many presenters, speakers, exhibitors, instructors, and Emerson staff who helped us exceed our goals for workshops, short courses, exhibits, and attendance and especially the outgoing chairman –Scott Pendegrass. Registered attendance for the conference included more than 1800 industry professionals and guests, exceeding our 2004 conference by 20%. Our users came from all around the world (more than 20% from outside North America) to learn and experience new, real technologies and explore application examples that are delivering real value at the plant floor and the bottom line. This is what the Emerson Global Users Exchange is all about. Our users had over 250 courses and workshops to choose from, not counting the nine breakouts for the related Industry Business Forums and the Management Roundtables. Also featured was a 40,000-square-foot interactive application and technology exhibit where the benefits of digital automation and migration paths were demonstrated, along with new field transmitter and valve technologies. We are already planning the 2006 Emerson Exchange for October 2-6, in Nashville, TN. Our theme for the 2006 conference is “Learn, Lead, Unleash”. We expect to build on the success of the 2005 conference and provide a conference that adds value to everyone who attends. Look for the call for papers in early January and submit your abstracts early if you would like to present at next year’s conference in Nashville. Be sure and mark your calendars early for next year’s conference: October
2-6, 2006 As always, we would appreciate your ideas, comments and participation. Please feel free to contact me or any member of the Board, if you have questions or feedback on the Emerson Global Users Exchange. Best regards, Jim Cook, Chairman >> Read more from our Chairman Message Archives
