The Chairman's Message

November, 2004

Mike SorelWelcome to the Emerson Global Users Exchange website.  We had a great conference in 2004, with over 1500 attendees. We also had 600 hours of technical presentations with 56 hours of short courses.  The technology exhibits included the most complex and integrated PlantWeb and DeltaV network ever built.  I would like to thank everyone who worked hard on the 2004 conference to make it a great success, especially the outgoing chairman – Marion Dawson-Sutton.

We are already planning the 2005 Emerson Exchange for October 3-7, in Orlando Florida.  Our theme for this year is “The Look of a Leader!”  -- Envisioneering Success.  We expect to build on the success of the 2004 conference and provide a conference that adds value to everyone who attends.

The 2004 conference reached an important milestone in that we actually had to close the call for papers.  Look for the call for papers in early January and submit your abstracts early if you would like to present.

One of the things that makes the Emerson Exchange event unique among user groups is that the agenda and content are driven by the users.  The Board of Directors meets several times a year to plan the entire conference, from selection of key note speakers, to the technology exhibits, and the selection and review of all of the roadmaps, short courses and workshops.  We greatly appreciate feedback from the users, and if you have any suggestions on how to make the Emerson Exchange better, please send them.  Also, if you would like to become a board member, please let us know.

Best regards,

Scott Pendegrass
