The Chairman's MessageJuly, 2002 Welcome!
This year’s Fisher-Rosemount Systems User Group Conference will be an excellent forum for users, vendors, engineers, and company managers to meet and shape the future in process control. “Game Changing Results” is the theme for the 2002 FRSUG Conference, scheduled for September 3-6 in beautiful San Diego, and will feature presentations by users about the unprecedented results they are achieving with PlantWeb, DeltaV, and AMS technologies. The FRSUG conference offers users of Emerson Process Management products and services, as well as, other process industry professionals an excellent venue to:
Andy Chatha, President of ARC
Advisory Group, and Paul Berwanger, Global Engineering Director
for Millenium Chemical will provide insightful presentations about
process automation and the industry during Tuesday afternoon’s
general session. Mr.
Chatha will elaborate on ARC’s recently published report finding
that “…
approximately $65 billion worth of legacy process control systems
are in use that are rapidly approaching the end of their
traditional lifecycle of 15 to 25 years.”
Mr. Berwanger’s “Finding the Hidden Plant”
presentation explains how Millenium, by utilizing PlantWeb
technology and Emerson’s loop audit services, was able to avoid
building a new manufacturing plant in order to meet increased
production levels.
The product exhibit hall hours are being extended this year to provide for demonstrations and user discussions on three consecutive conference days, giving attendees additional time to meet and talk with Emerson and other control solution providers. FRSUG hasn’t left out exceptional entertainment either. On Thursday evening, Emerson will host a classic Beach Party, set on Coronado Island’s oceanfront beach - drinks, food, music, and more with a Pacific coast sunset for background! Questions regarding the user group or conference may be directed to Stacey Cloud in Austin (512-834-7233, Stacey.Cloud@EmersonProcess.com). We look forward to seeing you in San Diego!
