How can a company prove the competency level of the personnel assigned to design and maintenance the systems?

Speakers: Bill Goble - Managing Partner, Exida and
Chuck Miller - Emerson Process Management

William M. Goble is currently Principal Managing Partner, Exida, a company
that does consulting, training and 61508 certification for safety critical
and high availability systems. He has over 30 years of experience in
control systems doing product development, engineering management,
marketing, training and consulting. Mr. Gobel has also authored and
published technical books on Functional Safety.

Chuck Miller is the Business Development Manager for Safety Instrumented
Systems at Emerson Process Management in Austin Texas and provides SIS business process development, product management and strategic positioning for DeltaV SIS safety systems in the Americas.
 

  • Cyber Security and the Control Domain
With Windows-based operating systems at the control system level, what are the network architecture requirements to provide
efficient internet access, inter-facility communications and prevent cyber attacks in the control domain?

Speakers: Graham Speake - BP International and Chuck Miller - Emerson Process

Graham Speak has designed Emergency Shutdown (ESD) and Fire and Gas Systems for the North Sea as well as developing a control language called EPIC for ICS Ltd. He has worked as a IT and security consultant where he was involved in the designing and implementing of security measures in a number of different industries from banks to large industrial conglomerates. He has held a number of security roles at BP, most recently advising our
refining and marketing division on the need for security in their Process
Control Systems.

Speaker: Raoul Mercer, Emerson Process Management

Raoul Mercer is a Global Pursuit Manager with Emerson Process Management located in the UK. He has worked for Emerson Process Management for 20 years. Raoul's Engineering background includes numerous projects involving control and safety applications in various industries.
