Getting the most out of what you may or may not have!
During this year’s IBF we will focus on two important components of our
industry; People and Data.
Addressing the Skills Gap in the Chemical Industry
Our
current aging workforce will soon equate to a sudden loss of experience
and knowledge within our industry. Engineering student enrolment is at
an all time low. What are the real issues, how will the effect us, and
how do we eliminate or alleviate the effect on our industry?
Dr.
Maurice Wilkins of the ARC Advisory Group will shed some light and new
ideas on how to address the skills gap and enable us to be competitive
both now and in the future.
Got Data? Now What?
Billions of dollars have been spent on control systems in various
processing industries. This dynamic environment is ever changing. How do
we compete in a global marketplace? One method is to take process data
from our current control system assets and analyze the data in a
real-time environment and present the data in a manner to personnel on
the “top floor” or on the “shop floor” for decision making that will
drive costs down in our manufacturing processes. We will share
applications on how leading companies are striving to compete in a
global marketplace.
Kai
Lin from Lakeside Process Controls will provide insight on the Practical
Applications of Lean Manufacturing Concepts to the Specialty Chemicals
Industry. Kai will focus on OEE, Equipment State Tracking, Dashboards,
KPI’s and the concept of sharing data among all levels of the
organization.
Join your fellow Specialty
Chemicals colleagues on
Monday, September. 10th 2:15-4:15pm in the Dallas 5-7 room.
